Bat ear correction surgery

Even as a child you were teased because of your prominent ears, so-called bat ears, and you are still suffering. This is a typical reason for choosing an ear correction.

Ear surgery

At about the age of six, the ears are almost fully grown, so that correction surgery can be performed. However - especially with children - a clear psychological indication is necessary to be able to perform the correction. Only if a child suffers from its protruding ears should correction surgery be considered.

In cases of very protruding bat ears it may be recommendable to have the correction performed shortly before a child starts school in order to avoid teasing and psychological stress.

Preparation

Prior to the procedure it will be necessary to clarify in a personal consultation what you want to achieve, what alternative possibilities exist and which are best suited for you or your child.

In most cases ear correction can be performed on an outpatient basis. In individual cases it may however become necessary to spend one night in the clinic.
