As soon as the body is fully grown and the breast is fully developed it is theoretically possible to perform a breast reduction. However, girls below the age of 18 should only be operated on in exceptional cases- if the physical and psychological problems caused by large breasts are intolerable – because of the potential risk that the breasts may not yet be fully grown and therefore require another operation.
