All lift surgery procedures (abdominal lift, thigh lift, upper arm lift) involve the removal of large portions of skin tissue. Therefore major scars are unavoidable. Wherever possible, the incisions will of course be placed in "invisible" areas – for instance in the case of upper arm lifts on the inner side of the upper arm – or in such a way that they can be concealed by panties. Prior to the operation the patient should therefore consider very carefully if he/she is willing to accept these scars for a better body contour. Professional incision techniques and good tissue quality will ensure that these scars will fade in the course of time and thus become less conspicuous.
